Bad Vöslau thermal baths
Franz Kaulfersch : "drinks Vöslauer thermal water"

The Bad Vöslau thermal bath is a spa in the Lower Austrian municipality of Bad Vöslau . The bathing facilities have been listed since 2020.

history

The Romans already knew the springs in this place. It is “an acratotherm of 24 degrees Celsius with 72 seconds of water, which is world-famous for its radioactivity , the purity of the water and its healing effects on circulatory disorders, nervous disorders, gynecological problems during convalescence after flu and operations. Vöslau has now put these spring pearls under the correct setting [-]. ”The bathing establishment in Bad Vöslau dates back to 1822. Moritz von Fries opened a bathing establishment there.

Viennese spa guests frequented the spa at least since the connection with the southern railway in the second half of the 19th century.

Theophil Hansen redesigned the bathroom in 1873 - at the time of the Vienna World Exhibition , when the Roman Bath was built in Vienna . However, Hansen's buildings were demolished shortly after the First World War . In 1926 the architects Peter Paul Brang and Wilhelm Lukesch designed the outdoor pool, which still exists today, in which a number of fountain figures and wall paintings are attached. The so-called Swedish shower is fed by thermal water, as is the green pool.

The sculptures are by Carl Langer (1877-1946) and Eugen Roth, the mural in the portico by Max Roth (1868-1949) and Hans Lukesch (1867-1936).
