The Thermes Napoléon in Plombières-les-Bains , a spa in the French department of Vosges in the historic Lorraine region , is a 19th century bathhouse and grand hotel . The building on the Avenue des Etats-Unis is since 2001 as a monument ( monument historique protected).

history

In 1856, the “Société d'exploitation des thermes” was founded, which was responsible for the construction and operation of the lavish bathhouse and the associated hotel. Since Napoleon III. Stayed in Plombières-les-Bains in 1856, 1858, 1865 and 1868, promising well-off guests from all over France. The buildings were constructed by the architects Isabelle, Normand and Grillot. The bathhouse in the middle connects the two hotel wings, creating a three-wing complex. The guests do not have to leave the house to reach the restaurant, the hotel and the bathhouse. In 1932/33 a comprehensive renovation took place under the architect Robert Danis .

architecture

The classical facade, the roof structure and the foyer as well as three preserved original treatment rooms are protected as a historical monument . Under monument is also the eastern dining room, which has become a conservatory opens.
