Thielles anemonefish ( Amphiprion thiellei ) was described in 1981 on the basis of two specimens that came from the aquarium trade. The natural range of the fish is unknown. The two specimens were probably caught in the Philippines . There are no nature observations, and no further specimens have been described. The status of the species is therefore unclear. They could be hybrids or some other species of color. It is also not documented which sea anemone the fish lives in symbiosis with .

features

Thielles anemonefish is brownish-orange in color. A wide, white horizontal stripe runs over the head directly behind the eye. There is a saddle-shaped, white spot on the top of the tail fin stalk.

The dorsal fin has 10 to 11 hard and 16 soft rays, the anal fin 2 hard and 14 soft rays. In one of the two fish described, the base of the soft-rayed part of the dorsal fin is white. The pectoral fins are supported by 16 to 17 fin rays. On the first gill arch there are 13 gill trap processes. The specimens after which the species was described were just over five centimeters long, but a maximum length of seven to nine centimeters is assumed. The length is 2.3 to 2.5 times the body height. The sideline is accompanied by 32 to 34 scales.
