Thietpald
Thietpald († January 4 or 7, 1034 ) was abbot of the Benedictine monastery of St. Gallen from 1022 to 1034.
Life
Thietpald became abbot of St. Gallen in September 1022. On April 19, 1025, King Konrad II confirmed the immunity and the free election of Abbot for Thietpald. This is its only documentary mention. Before that, it only appears in the Reichenau fraternity book .
Act
Thietpald was valued as an abbot. His government is considered a time of peace - even if the rebellious Duke Ernst of Swabia severely devastated the monastery in 1026. But the following year, Empress Gisela and her son Heinrich visited the monastery.
