Thilo Stehle

Thilo Stehle (* 1962 in Stuttgart ) is a German biochemist and structural biologist .

After studying chemistry at the Albert Ludwigs University of Freiburg , he received his doctorate there in 1992 under Georg E. Schulz on spatial structures and catalytic mechanisms of the enzymes guanylate kinase and NADH peroxidase . After working as a group leader at the renowned Harvard Medical School , he was appointed professor at the University of Tübingen at the Interfaculty Institute for Biochemistry in 2005 .

One of the main areas of research is the capsid proteins of viruses .
