Georg E. Schulz

Georg E. Schulz (born August 24, 1939 in Berlin ) is a German physicist and structural biologist .

Schulz was appointed professor of organic chemistry and biochemistry at the Albert-Ludwigs-Universität Freiburg in 1984 after a time as a post-doctoral student at the Max Planck Institute for Medical Research in Heidelberg and at Yale University . In 1993 he was one of the winners of the Max Planck Research Prize , in 1998 he was elected a member of the Leopoldina . In 2002, he was awarded the Phoenix Pharmaceutical Science Prize. His retirement was postponed in October 2004; on July 31, 2007 it was executed.

Schulz was awarded the Carl Hermann Medal for 2019 .
