Thomas Arbuthnott

Thomas Bone Arbuthnott (born June 29, 1911 in Glasgow , United Kingdom , † January 20, 1995 ) was a New Zealand boxer .

life and career

Arbuthnott was born to David Arbuthnott and Mary Robertson Bone. The family emigrated to New Zealand in the year of the birth . For this country Arbuthnott started boxing at the Summer Olympics in Berlin in 1936 .

He competed in the welterweight division . After receiving a bye in the first round , he was defeated in the round of 16 against the Argentine Raúl Rodríguez and thus achieved a ninth place.

Arbuthnott had been married since 1939, had a daughter and two grandchildren. He lived in Auckland .
