Thomas Bidgood
Thomas Bidgood (born October 7, 1858 in Woolwich , † March 1, 1925 in London ) was an English orchestra conductor and composer.
Life
Thomas Bidgood's decision to turn to music was probably influenced by the concerts of the Royal Artillery Band , because he grew up in Woolwich, the location of what was probably the best music corps of the British Army at the time. During his studies at the London Conservatory, he received several awards for his achievements. After graduating, he worked as an orchestra conductor, teacher and composer. In addition to various theater orchestras, Bidgood led his own professional orchestra and also conducted a wind orchestra. As a composer, he left behind light music, waltzes, dances and marches as well as countless arrangements.
