Thomas Broch

Thomas Broch (* 1947 in Ulm ) is a Catholic theologian.

Live and act

Thomas Broch studied Catholic theology and philosophy in Tübingen, Münster and Paris. In 1976 he was of the Catholic Theological Faculty of the University of Tübingen as a result of work on de Pierre Teilhard Chardin Dr. theol. PhD. Since then he has published further studies on Teilhard. Most recently, his scientific work was on the Tübingen theologian and philosopher Joseph Möller (1916–2007) and questions of interreligious dialogue.

From 1973 to 1981 Broch was a Catholic pastor in the Diocese of Rottenburg-Stuttgart . He then worked as a publishing editor in Düsseldorf and in adult education in Baden-Württemberg. From 1988 to 2006 he was in charge of public relations for the German Caritas Association . From January 1, 2007 to April 30, 2012 he was press spokesman for the Rottenburg-Stuttgart diocese.

Broch has been retired since May 1, 2012, but he continues to work in some areas of responsibility in the Rottenburg-Stuttgart diocese. In October 2013 he was appointed Episcopal Commissioner for Refugee Issues by the Rottenburg Bishop Gebhard Fürst. Broch is also a regular author of radio broadcasts ( SWR , Deutschlandfunk , DeutschlandRadio Berlin ).
