Thomas Ehbrecht (born December 4, 1964 in Duderstadt ) is a German politician of the Christian Democratic Union of Germany (CDU).

Life

Thomas Ehbrecht is the managing director of a private group of companies .

In 1982 he joined the CDU and is a board member of the district, joint congregation and local association. From 1994 to 2007 he was and has been chairman of the CDU local association in Obernfeld since 2011. From 2002 to 2006 he was deputy chairman and chairman of the CDU joint community association. From 1996 to 2006 he was a member of the Obernfeld municipal council and has been chairman of the CDU parliamentary group there again since 2011.

In the state election on October 15, 2017 in Lower Saxony , he won the direct mandate in constituency 15 ( Duderstadt - Friedland - Gieboldehausen - Gleichen - Radolfshausen - Rosdorf ) with 41.4% of the vote. His predecessor, Lothar Koch , a member of the state parliament for many years , had not run for this election.
