Thomas Ewerhard

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Thomas Ewerhard is a German graphic artist and layouter .

He was still studying biology at the end of the 1990s when he happened to get the chance through Andy Classen to design the cover for Richthofen . In total, a three-digit number of CD booklets shows that he is responsible for graphics and layout. These include albums by bands such as Amon Amarth (including The Avenger ), Dimmu Borgir (including Puritanical Euphoric Misanthropia ), Hammerfall (including Renegade ) and Tankard (including The Beauty and the Beer ).

He adapts the style of his works to the bands. While progressive metal bands tend to get abstract illustrations, some artists like Tobias Sammet from Edguy set very specific guidelines for the album The Scarecrow . He is considered to be one of the first graphic artists in the heavy metal scene who established himself with a new style in the form of digital composings and collages.

At the beginning of 2016, the joint exhibition “Painted In Blood” took place in Bochum's “Sold Out Gallery” with Jan Meininghaus and Björn Gooßes. In addition, some of his works were on view at Wacken Open Air 2016 in the so-called W: O: Art Tent .

Together with Meininghaus he was active in the band Breeding Fear from 1994 to 1999 .
