Jan Meininghaus

Jan Meininghaus (* 1973 in Pakistan ) is a German illustrator and graphic artist .

Meininghaus began working as a graphic designer in the late 1980s and meanwhile studied visual communication in Essen. To this day he prefers to work with brushes and pens as well as on paper or digitally with the drawing tablet. His style is influenced by urban subculture, fashion, music and film.

His works include u. a. Cover pages for Rock Hard and Kreator ("Gods of Violence", "Phantom Antichrist"), Bolt Thrower and Overkill as well as Hate Squad and Sick of It All . In the non-musical area he created a. a. Works for Ford , Beck’s and Netflix and was one of the illustrators of the comic series “The Forgotten” and “The Settlers” for the fourth edition of the video game series of the same name by Blue Byte .

As an illustrator, photographer and graphic designer, he has been responsible for the visual appearance of the denim label Rumble59 since 2009.

In September 2014 his exhibition “Punk, Rock & Rebels” with portraits of musicians like Lemmy Kilmister , James Hetfield and Iggy Pop took place in Bochum's “Sold Out Gallery” . At the beginning of 2016, a joint exhibition with Thomas Ewerhard and Björn Gooßes followed at the same location .

He is also active as a musician, including with Breeding Fear from 1994 to 1999 and as a rhythm guitarist for Death of a Demon , since 2013 with his band Saint Serpent .
