Thomas Freudenstein , called "Tommy", (born April 28, 1962 in Gudensberg ) is a former soccer player and coach .

Thomas Freudenstein is the son of a farmer in the Gudensberg district of Maden . He began his career as a youth player at TSV Maden and switched to the youth team of KSV Hessen Kassel as a youth .

The attacking midfielder and striker made his first breakthrough in a friendly match between KSV Hessen and Borussia Mönchengladbach in the Kassel Auestadion in 1981, in which he equalized to 1-1. From 1983 to 1987 he was a contract player at KSV Hessen Kassel in the 2nd Bundesliga and became a crowd favorite. During this time he played 109 second division games and scored 15 goals. He then moved to Hertha BSC in Berlin , where he first played in the top division and in the 1988/89 season in the 2nd Bundesliga, where he was used 23 times and scored one goal. In the 1989/90 season he returned to Kassel , played 16 more times for KSV Hessen in the 2nd Bundesliga and scored one goal.

He then continued his career at FSV Kassel until 1997. When KSV Hessen Kassel started again in the district league in 1998, he was reactivated as a veteran and rose with the club three times until 2001, before he finally ended his active career.

From September 26, 2002 to February 19, 2004 Freudenstein acted as a trainer for KSV Hessen in the major league . Thomas Freudenstein now runs a travel agency.
