Thomas Fritsch (composer)
Thomas Fritsch , also Thomasius Fritschius , (born August 25, 1563 in Görlitz , † before 1620 in Breslau ) was a German clergyman and composer .
Life
Thomas Fritsch was the son of the city physician of the same name Thomas Fritsch , doctor of medicine and philosophy . Fritsch was considered "one of the most excellent musicians of the 16th century" . Not much is known about his life and work. It is considered likely that he was trained by J. Winkler in Görlitz.
In his magnum opus "Novum et insigne opus musicum", Fritsch reports on his religious vows and that he was Lord of the Cross at St. Martin's Church in Breslau.
