Thomas Grüter (born December 8, 1966 ) is a former Swiss football player .
Athletic career
The goalie began his career at FC Emmenbrücke in the first division . From 1988 to 1989 he played in 25 league games for FC St. Gallen in National League A before moving to National League B for FC Basel in 1989, where he played 133 league games and 148 games in total from 1989 to 1997. In 1994 he was promoted to National League A with FC Basel. At the age of 30 he ended his career in 1997 and started his own advertising agency. At times he also worked as a goalkeeping coach for FC Basel.
