Thomas Grimm (sports official)

Thomas Grimm (born April 3, 1959 in Lüscherz ) is a Swiss lawyer and sports official.

Life

Grimm was born in Lüscherz , Canton of Bern , in 1959 . He passed the Matura in Biel in 1979 . Grimm completed his law studies at the University of Bern in 1987 as a lawyer. He is married and lives in Zurich .

job

From 1987 to 1989 Grimm worked for the watch manufacturer ETA SA in Grenchen and in 1990 for SAP . From 1992 to 1995 he was Head of Legal at UEFA . From 1995 to 2001 Grimm worked for the sports marketer CWL, which later merged to Infront Sports & Media . Since 2002 he has been an independent consultant as the owner of "Grimm Consulting".

Sports official

From 2007 to 2009 Grimm was president of the BSC Young Boys sports club from Bern . In June 2009 the Swiss Football League elected him its new president at a general assembly in Bern. After disputes over the transfer ban against FC Sion , he did not stand for re-election in November 2011.

From 2008 to 2011 Grimm was a member of the following commissions: Committee of the Swiss Football League (2008 to 2009), FIFA Legal Committee (2009 to 2011), UEFA Committee for the Status of Players, Transfer and Match Agents and Match Agents (2009–2010), UEFA Committee for Club Competitions (2010 to 2013), EPFL Board of Directors (2010 to 2011) and Vice President of the Swiss Football Association SFV (2009 to 2011). He was also elected Vice-President of the FIFA Dispute Resolution Chamber by the FIFA Executive Committee in 2013.

Grimm became a member of the board of directors of FC Biel-Bienne in May 2012 in order to create professional structures. Since April 2018 he has presided over the Ukrainian professional league "UPL".
