Thomas Hauser (journalist)

Thomas Hauser (born July 3, 1954 in Emmendingen ) is a German journalist . It is 2016 since October 1 publisher and was previously managing editor of the Badische Zeitung , based in Freiburg .

Life

Hauser grew up in Emmendingen, north of Freiburg. After studying educational science, sociology, psychology and politics at the Justus Liebig University in Giessen and the Eberhard Karls University in Tübingen , he initially completed a traineeship at the Badische Zeitung . Then he joined the business editor of the paper. In 1986 he was awarded the Theodor Wolff Prizeawarded. Since 1995 he has been the head of the home editorial office. From 1996 he was deputy editor-in-chief and since January 1, 2002 editor-in-chief. Effective October 1, 2016, Hauser moved to the position of editor of the newspaper, which until then had been the publisher and co-owner Christian Hodeige. The new editor-in-chief was Hauser's previous deputy, Thomas Fricker .
