Thomas Köhre

Thomas Köhre (born October 28, 1976 in Leipzig ) is a German non-fiction author and journalist.

Köhre writes non-fiction books that deal with computer technology and Internet technologies. Some works were translated and published as licensed editions in Russia or Hungary, for example. He worked as an editor for various publishers such as Auerbach Verlag in Leipzig and online media such as LCM-Network and Onlinekosten.de.

Career

While he was still at school in the late 1980s, Köhre was still working on home computers. He learned his first programming language with BASIC and regularly visited the computer room of the House of Young Pioneers "Georg Schwarz" in Leipzig. After graduating from high school in 1995, Köhre studied business informatics and business administration at the University of Leipzig. During his studies he started working as a journalist for various online portals. He began to write for Markt + Technik Verlag in 2001, where he published more than a dozen different non-fiction books, mainly on the subject of hardware and software. His network book Wireless LAN & DSL was published in five editions. His books have been translated into four languages. Thomas Köhre lives in Leipzig and works as a freelance journalist for the editorial office Die Schreibfabrik .
