Thomas Wedge

Thomas Keil (born February 6, 1970 in Frankfurt am Main ) is a German economist and university professor .

career

After graduating from high school, Keil studied industrial engineering at the Technical University of Darmstadt . Already working in research at the Aalto University in Helsinki from 1994 , he completed his studies in Darmstadt in 1996. While he obtained his licentiate in Helsinki until 1998 , he was a lecturer at the university from autumn 1997 . He then did his doctorate until 2000 with the title "External Corporate Venturing: Cognition, Speed, and Capability Development".

In 2001, Keil took over a temporary professorship for industrial management and headed the Institute of Strategy and International Business at Aalto University. In 2002 he was appointed Assistant Professor at York University in Toronto. At the same time he continued to work as a lecturer in Helsinki. In 2006 he finally returned to Helsinki as Professor of Strategic Management . From 2006 to 2009 he was also director of the TKK Executive School of Business , which offers a Master of Business Administration degree . Keil has been Professor of International Management at the University of Zurich since 2013.

The focus of Keil's work is on issues relating to corporate venturing, mergers & acquisitions , and strategic corporate renewal. He has won several international awards for his work.
