Thomas Laubach (theologian)

Thomas Laubach (after marriage to Thomas Weißer ) (* 1964 in Cologne ) is a Roman Catholic theologian ; he wrote the lyrics to numerous New Spiritual Songs . In the past, as now, he publishes his publications under his maiden name Laubach. Since April 1, 2012, he has been Professor of Theological Ethics at the University of Bamberg under his real name White . He can often be heard on the radio at the “Wort zum Tag” and at morning prayers.

Laubach studied Catholic theology and German at the Universities of Bonn and Tübingen . Between 1992 and 2006 he worked as a research assistant at the Catholic Faculty of the University of Tübingen, in the department of theological ethics (doctorate 1999; habilitation 2003). Since 1984 Laubach has worked as a pedagogical assistant and speaker in youth and adult education and since 1987 also in the journalistic field. Since then he has been the state broadcaster at SWR in Mainz . Laubach is married and has four children. With the marriage Laubach took the name of his wife, Weißer .
