Thomas Munz

Thomas Otto Munz (born March 7, 1929 in Seelbach , Baden; † November 4, 2011 ) was a German sculptor.

Career

Munz first completed an apprenticeship as a carpenter. At the age of 21 he started training as a sculptor at the Munich School of Applied Arts and continued his studies at the Academy of Fine Arts . There he met his wife, the sculptor Maria Munz-Natterer († 2008). Both married in 1957 and in 1959 acquired the Bartl property in Niederneuching .

He created works for churches, public spaces and places, especially in the Erding district, but also in Lower Austria, such as in the Geras Abbey or Pernegg Abbey .
