Thomas Puschmann (born March 28, 1973 in Geldern ) is a former German soccer player .

Club career

At the beginning of his career, Thomas Puschmann played for the then Bundesliga club KFC Uerdingen 05 . The only 17-year-old defender came in the 1990/91 relegation season on a professional assignment and otherwise played in the second team. In the following season he managed with his team the immediate promotion, only to be relegated a year later. In 1993 Puschmann moved to MSV Duisburg and was relegated to the second division with the club in his second season. But even here he managed to get promoted again under the coach Friedhelm Funkel (as in Uerdingen). In the promotion season, the man marker established itself as a regular player and should remain in the zebra's jersey from now on . Despite the subsequent successful Bundesliga time in Duisburg, Puschmann moved to FC St. Pauli in the second division in 1998 . In the year of promotion in 2001, however, he was haunted by bad luck with injuries. At first he suffered from an inflamed bruise in his ankle and later his tonsils had to be removed. At the end of the season he left the club and returned to his former club KFC Uerdingen, which had meanwhile crashed into the Regionalliga. After just one season, he moved on to league rivals SG Wattenscheid 09 , where he played for the next two years. From 2004 to 2008 Puschmann played for the two major division clubs 1. FC Kleve and Schwarz-Weiß Essen .

Thomas Puschmann made a total of 60 Bundesliga appearances (4 goals) and 81 second division games (5 goals).
