Thomas Rehbein

Thomas Rehbein (* in Lübeck ; † May 2, 1610 ibid) was a German lawyer, council secretary and councilor of the Hanseatic city of Lübeck.

Life

Thomas Rehbein was the son of the elderly man of the Lübeck skipper Thomas Rehbein († 1585). From April 1562 he studied at the University of Rostock and in the summer semester of 1563 he moved to the University of Leipzig . In 1573, his father secured the appointment of Magister Thomas Rehbein - initially on probation - as Council Secretary in Lübeck. From 1584 he kept the Lübeck Upper Town Book without being a protonotary . In 1593 he was elected councilor of Lübeck, but retained the leadership of the Upper Town Book and now called himself a protonotary. He lived in the house at Fleischhauerstraße 19 in Lübeck. Rehbein was the brother of the Lübeck chronicler Heinrich Rehbein .
