Thomas Reimer (journalist)
Thomas Reimer (born September 5, 1936 in Berlin , † July 7, 2011 in Baden-Baden ; formerly Thomas Travaglini ) was a German journalist.
Life
Reimer, born in 1936, studied at the universities in Munich and Berlin and received his doctorate with a thesis on the assassination attempt against Hitler on July 20, 1944 . In 1964 Reimer went to Südwestfunk (SWF) in Baden-Baden, where he first worked in regional reporting. Later he worked for Günter Gaus and Report Baden-Baden . Over the years he worked as a foreign correspondent and as a reporter, moderator and managing editor. He worked as a radio correspondent in Vietnam in 1968 and in South America in 1974. From 1975 to 1981 he was also a television reporter for the SWF and then deputy editor-in-chief of the station. Before he was the foreign correspondent in Switzerland from 1992 to 1998, he was head of the political department. He was then chief reporter for three years and finally retired in 2001.
