Thomas Riedel

Thomas Riedel (* 1970 in Berlin ) is a German television journalist.

Life

Thomas Riedel began his television career in 1986 on GDR television as a presenter of the youth program "rund". From 1990 he was the moderator of the youth magazine " Elf 99 " in the DFF .

From 1994 to 1996 he worked for the private Berlin TV broadcaster 1A-Fernsehen . He moderates the news programs “1A-Der Tag”, “Das Nachtjournal” and the report format “mittmang”.

From 1995 Riedel worked as a freelance writer for the ARD tabloid magazine " Brisant ". He developed formats for Mitteldeutscher Rundfunk and worked for the private television stations Sat.1 and N24 .

In 2002 Thomas Riedel was employed by Sat.1 SatelliteFernsehen GmbH . As an author and editor, he realized everyday reports for the series “24 hours”. He is also (together with Falko Korth) the author of the documentaries “Without me, comrades! Escape from the GDR ”,“ Breasts, Broilers and Bananas - Youth in the GDR ”,“ Berlin won't give up! The Airlift ”,“ Freedom! The end of the GDR ”. "Borderline case of Böseckendorf - escape at the last second".

In July 2009 Thomas Riedel founded the Berlin film production company KR.FILM together with his partner Falko Korth. In addition to TV documentaries, reports and entertainment formats, KR.FILM realized films in 2012 and 2013 for large-screen projection at the Marie-Elisabeth-Lüders-Haus on behalf of the German Bundestag .

Thomas Riedel has two children.
