Thomas Rietschel
Thomas Rietschel (* 1955 ) is a German cultural manager and musician.
After graduating from high school, Rietschel did community service and studied art history, German and empirical cultural studies in Tübingen and Vienna, which he completed with a master's degree. This was followed by music studies with a major in violin in Nuremberg. He was then a member, from 1986 managing director of the Chamber Orchestra Schloss Werneck . He was then an educational advisor at the Landesmusikakademie NRW in Heek . In 1992 he became general secretary of the German section of Jeunesses Musicales in Weikersheim and in 2002 of the German Music Council . From 2004 to 2016 he was President of the Frankfurt University of Music and Performing Arts . Since then he has been a cultural advisor at Take pART. He is also a member of the board of trustees of forum thomanum Leipzig eV He is married and has three children.
