Thomas Sauer (economist)

Thomas Sauer (* 1958 ) is a German economist .

Live and act

Thomas Sauer studied at the University of Bremen and graduated in 1984 with a degree in economics . He then completed postgraduate studies at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich and graduated in 1987 with a diploma.

From 1988 to 1992 he worked at the Federal Institute for Eastern and International Studies in Cologne. In 1993 he was at the University of Kassel Dr. rer. pole. PhD .

From 1992 to 1998 he worked at the Ifo Institute for Economic Research in Munich and then until 2002 at the Berlin University of Applied Sciences . Since March 2002 he has been a professor of economics in the business administration department at the Ernst Abbe University of Applied Sciences in Jena .

In addition to the integration and transformation of economic systems, Sauer names the macroeconomics of open economies as well as the investigation of innovation and growth as main research areas .

Sauer is a member of Attac's Scientific Advisory Board .
