Thomas Shaw (singer)
Thomas Edgar "Tom" Shaw (born March 4, 1908 in Brenham , Texas , † February 24, 1977 in San Diego , California ) was an American blues singer and guitarist .
Life
As a young man, he worked with Blind Lemon Jefferson , JT Smith and Rambling Thomas , but never got a chance to make recordings himself. It was not until the beginning of the 1970s - after his 'discovery' for the white market in the course of the blues revival - that he recorded several long-playing records on the labels Advent , Blue Goose and Blues Beacon .
In the few years from his discovery until his death in 1977 he went on extensive tours that took him to Europe.
