Thomas Spengler

Thomas Stefan Spengler (born July 20, 1963 in Karlsruhe ) is a German business economist with a research focus on production and logistics. He is head of the Institute for Automotive Industry and Industrial Production and holds the chair for Production and Logistics at the TU Braunschweig . In addition to his university activities, he is a founding member of the Lower Saxony Research Center Vehicle Technology (NFF) and the Lower Saxony Research Center Production Technology (NFP).

Live and act

Spengler studied industrial engineering at the University of Karlsruhe (TH) , where he received his doctorate in 1994 and qualified as a professor in 1998.

Spengler has published in a large number of well-known specialist journals, including the European Journal of Operational Research , OR Spektrum , the International Journal of Production Research and the Zeitschrift für Betriebswirtschaft . The main contents of his research work are aspects of sustainability in production and logistics as well as issues in the context of closed-loop systems.
