Thomas Stelzer (basketball player)

Thomas Stelzer (born July 17,  1981 in Gmunden ) is an Austrian basketball official and former player.

career

Stelzer became a member of Swans Gmunden in 1988 , from 1998 he played with the team in the basketball league , in 2005, 2006, 2007 and 2010 he was national champion with the team, and in 2003, 2004, 2008, 2010, 2011 and 2012 he was also a cup winner. The 1.85 meter tall player also competed in the European Cup with the “swans”. As an Austrian national player, Stelzer, known in basketball circles by his nickname "Billy", took part in the B-European Championship in 2005, before he was a youth national player.

In the summer of 2017, he, who was in charge of games in the 2nd Bundesliga, took over the position of sporting director in Gmunden with Richard Poiger , which Stelzer's father Harald had previously carried out for decades.
