Thomas Stoimaier

Thomas Stoimaier (* 1971 ) is an Austrian politician from the Social Democratic Party of Austria (SPÖ). On July 2, 2019 he was appointed as Member of the state parliament of Styria sworn in , where he remained until December 17 of 2019.

Life

Thomas Stoimaier began an apprenticeship as a machine fitter in 1986 and was then elected to the youth trust council. Since 2003 he has been Chairman of the Workers Works Council at the Magna Steyr Fahrzeugtechnik in Graz . He has also been a member of the European Works Council (EWC) of Magna International since 2015 .

In the state elections in Styria in 2015 , he ran for 16th place on the state list and in state electoral district 4 ( West Styria ). After Bettina Vollath moved to the EU Parliament on July 2, 2019, Thomas Stoimaier took over her mandate in the Styrian Landtag and was appointed to the XVII. Legislative term as a deputy sworn in . After the state elections in 2019 , he left the state parliament.

In Stainz he is a member of the municipal council.
