The Magna Steyr vehicle technology is an Austrian automobile manufacturer whose headquarters and at the same time the largest production site in Graz is. Magna Steyr is a subsidiary of the Austro- Canadian automotive supplier group Magna International, founded by Austro-Canadian Frank Stronach , and was created from the merger of Magna Europe and parts of the former industrial conglomerate Steyr-Daimler-Puch .
Magna Steyr only develops and produces vehicles on behalf of other manufacturers. The all-wheel drive system was developed for Mercedes-Benz and the all-wheel drive version ( 4MATIC ) of the Mercedes E-Class was produced by the end of 2006 . At the moment u. a. Since its introduction and development, the G-Class has been built for Mercedes-Benz until 2022. The painted aluminum body for the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG was also produced from 2009 to 2014 .
The company performed important development work and a. for the Qoros 3 , Fiat Bravo and (among other things in the area of the new all-wheel drive) for the first BMW X3 , which, like the Saab Cabriolet 9-3, was exclusively produced by Magna Steyr in Graz. Magna produced the Chrysler Voyager for Daimler Chrysler from purchasing the Eurostar automobile plant in Graz until the end of November 2007 . The Jeep Grand Cherokee was manufactured here for the continental European market and as a right-hand drive .
The Mercedes-Benz G-Class has been produced at the Graz location since its introduction and the current BMW 5 Series since 2017 . Production of the Jaguar E-Pace also started in September 2017 . For the new and the first all-electric vehicle from Jaguar, Magna started production of the I-Pace in 2018. Production of the BMW Z4, developed together with BMW , also started in 2018 . And in spring 2019, both production in the paint shop in Hoče-Slivnica, Slovenia and production of the Toyota Supra in Graz started.
At the IAA 2005 , Magna Steyr presented the concept car MILA, a single-seater, natural gas powered sports car that is able to reach top speeds of up to 220 km / h. In 2015, the MILA Plus, the eighth vehicle in the MILA family, was presented at the Geneva Motor Show.

Mila family
The Mila-Family are concept vehicles that were presented at various automobile shows. They show innovations and technologies.
Mila Plus
At the Geneva Motor Show 2015, the Mila Plus, a two-seater hybrid sports car, was presented. The plug-in hybrid vehicle concept with a three-cylinder gasoline engine and two electric motors should show a lightweight construction concept and an alternative drive solution.
Mila Blue
The Mila Blue was a modern, natural gas-powered lifestyle vehicle with a car mass index of 49 = less than 49 g CO 2 / km. The concept vehicle stood for a new, intelligent lightweight construction. Thanks to a weight saving of 300 kg, it was a third lighter than a comparable vehicle in the A-segment with CNG drive. It was presented in Geneva in 2014.
Mila Coupic
The sixth concept vehicle of the Mila family, the MILA Coupic, combined three different vehicle concepts in one: SUV coupé that can be converted into a pick-up or a convertible. The presentation of the MILA Coupic took place at the Geneva Motor Show 2012.
Mila Aerolight
The fifth Mila concept vehicle was presented at the Geneva Motor Show 2011: Mila Aerolight, a compact 4-seater with natural gas drive.
Mila Alpin
The Mila Alpin is a small, lightweight off-road vehicle for four occupants (with a 3 + 1 seating arrangement) and was first presented at the 2008 Geneva Motor Show. The vehicle is 3540 mm long, 1703 mm wide and 1751 mm high and has a 3-cylinder engine with 1.0 l (999 cm³) displacement in two versions: natural gas or hybrid with petrol and natural gas.
Mila future
Presented for the first time at the Geneva Motor Show 2007, the Mila future combines four roof options in one vehicle sculpture: Coupé, Landaulet, Copster (a mixture of Coupé and Roadster) and Roadster.
Mila 2
The successor to the first Milas is a two-seater sports car concept.
Concept Mila
The show car was presented as a single-seater sports car at the IAA in Frankfurt in 2005. The first prototype of the vehicle powered by natural gas was built in 2006.
