Thomas Wieske (born February 24, 1958 in Dessau ) is a German legal scholar and professor of logistics law and risk management .

biography

Wieske studied law and politics at the Universities of Hamburg and Freiburg from 1978 to 1984 .

He passed the first state examination in law in 1984 in Freiburg , and after his legal clerkship at the Hanseatic Higher Regional Court in Hamburg, he passed the second state examination in 1988. In 1996 he received his doctorate from the University of Hamburg .

Since 1999 he has been a professor at the Bremerhaven University of Applied Sciences and director of the Institute for Logistics Law and Risk Management with a focus on transport and logistics law . From 2005 to 2006, under his leadership, the Logistics Law Working Group developed and published the logistics terms and conditions , which are used today by many forwarding agents and logistics companies.

Wieske expressed skepticism about the compatibility of the so-called "German Transport and Storage Conditions (DTLB)" recommended by the shippers' associations after the cancellation of the General German Forwarding Conditions with § 307 BGB. He therefore welcomed the new version of the ADSp 2017 recommended by all participating associations.
