Thorondir is a pagan metal band from Waldsassen ( Bavaria ), which deals with legends from their homeland, stories about old pagan gods and the beauty of nature.

history

The band was founded in 2007 by Kevin Wienerl (vocals), Dominik Hautmann (guitar) and Alexander Göhl (drums). Shortly afterwards Michael Ney (lead guitar), Christopher Zeus (bass) and Fabian Wienerl (keyboards) joined them. A few months after its founding, the band recorded their first album in a local studio, which led to a contract with the Austrian label CCP Records . Due to internal differences of opinion, the band separated from Zeus, and Florian Striegl became the new bassist. Then the songs were edited again at the record company and in April 2009 the first album called Düsterwald was released . The second album from those days was recorded in 2010 in Woodshed Studio by V. Santura ( Triptykon , Dark Fortress ) and released in June 2011. In 2017 the band signed with the TrollZorn Records label. In February 2019 the release of the third album called Des Wandrers Mar was announced for April 19, 2019 and at the same time the first new song Revenge through the Sword was released.
