Thorsten Becker (born May 13, 1980 ) is a German soccer player .

career

As a youth player, he moved from Fortuna Schlangen to the junior department of TuS Paderborn-Neuhaus in 1992 . Becker went through all youth teams and played since the 2001/02 season in the first team of Paderborn. With the club, which has since been renamed SC Paderborn 07 , the trained defender rose to the 2nd Bundesliga after the 2004/05 regional league season was tied for second behind champions Eintracht Braunschweig . Another highlight of his career so far was the move into the round of 16 of the 2004/05 DFB Cup , which was overshadowed by the betting scandal surrounding referee Robert Hoyzer .

In his first second division season, Thorsten Becker played ten games for SC Paderborn when he got stuck with a shoe in the grass during training in November 2005 and tore a cruciate ligament . Since then he has not been able to play a competitive game for the SCP. After a ten-month break, he celebrated his comeback in friendly games, only to suffer another serious knee injury in November 2006. Before the 2007/08 season he was back on the field. He was substituted on in the 73rd minute in the friendly against Preußen Münster. After the 2008/09 season, his contract in Paderborn ran out and Becker decided to move to a lower league. In the 2009/10 season he played for Hövelhofer SV in the Westphalia League .

In January 2011 Thorsten Becker returned to his youth and home club FC Fortuna Schlangen in the district league A. Since the summer of 2011 he was the coach of the first team at FC Fortuna. He was replaced by Werner Koch on the last day of the 2014/15 season.

From the 2016/2017 season he will take over the coaching position at the A-Kreisligisten Sportfreunde Oesterholz-Kohlstädt.
