Thorsten Schlumberger (born October 29, 1960 in Hamburg ) is a former German soccer player . The striker and midfielder made his debut in the Bundesliga in 1979 .

Schlumberger made his first footballing experience in the youth teams of Hamburger SV . Kuno Klötzer brought the talented footballer to Hertha BSC in Berlin in 1979 . In the 1980/81 season he switched to local rivals Tennis Borussia , because he did not get along with the coach Uwe Klimaschefski .

After moving back to Hertha BSC in the 1985/86 season, he was injured twice and was out for around five months. From the following season he played five seasons with Blau-Weiß 90 Berlin , his playing time there ended with the club's license withdrawal. That season he was the sixth top scorer in the 2nd Bundesliga.

This was followed by positions at BSV Brandenburg , FSV Velten and SV Wilhelmshaven , where a serious knee injury ended his career.

In the 1995/96 season, Schlumberger was Heikko Glöde's assistant coach for Hertha’s A youth team.

He scored 65 goals in his 228 Bundesliga and second division games.
