Thorsten Sueße (born April 4, 1959 in Hanover ) is a German doctor and writer.

Life

Thorsten Sueße was born in Hanover in 1959, studied medicine and from the beginning of the 1980s dealt with the scientific analysis of Nazi "euthanasia" . As an award for his scientific documentation on the killing of mentally ill people from the Lower Saxony sanatoriums and nursing homes in the Third Reich , he received (together with a co-author) the 1986 dissertation prize of the Society of Friends of the Hannover Medical School .

He has a doctorate in psychiatry and psychotherapy as well as a specialist in psychosomatic medicine . He is currently head of the social psychiatric service in the Hanover region .

In addition to a specialist book on Nazi "euthanasia" in Lower Saxony and other scientific articles about the killing of psychiatric patients and the behavior of psychiatrists and administrative officials at the time, he published a play and several detective novels about the main character Dr. Mark Seifert, the fictional head of the social psychiatric service in the Hanover region. Sueße also published numerous short stories in various anthologies.

Occasionally he worked as an actor.

He is married, has two sons and lives in the Hanover area.
