Thorsten Walther (born September 20, 1972 ) is a former German soccer goalkeeper .

Career

In 1994 Walther moved from SC Geislingen to FC Augsburg . After a season and a half he was signed by VfB Stuttgart , where he was not used by the professionals. Half a year later, in the summer of 1996, he finally came to the then Bundesliga club Fortuna Düsseldorf , where he represented the injured goalkeeper Georg Koch in the second half of the season . After relegation he stayed in the club, where he became the goalkeeper after Koch's departure. In the 1998/99 season, however, he lost his regular place to Frank Juric . In 1999 Walther moved to France for a year at FC Toulouse , and then ended his career. In total, he played 14 Bundesliga and 33 second division games.

Today Walther works as a freelance - Software Architect . He is trained as a computer scientist and speaks English and French.
