Thorsten Zirkel

Thorsten Zirkel (born November 11, 1977 ) is a German quiz player .

Life

Zirkel grew up in Celle and graduated from the Hermann-Billung-Gymnasium there in 1997 . He has a degree in banking and has lived in Hanover since 2001 .

Career

In 2006 he took part in the RTL quiz show Wer wird Millionär? part and earned 16,000 euros. In 2013 he was the winner of the ZDF show Der Quiz-Champion and won 500,000 euros.

In the ARD show Quizduell-Olymp , he has been one of three quiz experts since the first season (2015), against each of whom two prominent candidates compete.

Zirkel is one of the top players of the German Quiz Association (DQV), of which he has been a member since 2012. In 2014 he was the overall winner of the DQV's Germany Cup. From 2014 to 2017 he was a member of the DQV national quiz team. In 2016 he was German quiz champion in singles.
