The Throphu Monastery or Throphu Chamchen Chöde in Sa'gya County of Xigazê , Tibet , is the founding monastery of the Throphu Kagyu School, one of the eight small schools of the Kagyu school tradition of Tibetan Buddhism .
It was founded in 1212 by Throphu Lotsawa Champa Pel (1173-1225), who is also known as the “translator of Throphu”.
