The Thumb Rock (from English thumb 'thumb' ) is a cliff in the Wilhelm Archipelago off the west coast of the Antarctic Peninsula . In the group of the Argentine Islands, it is located in the western entrance to Stella Creek between Winter Island and the northwestern end of Galíndez Island .
Participants in the British Graham Land Expedition (1934–1937) led by the Australian polar explorer John Rymill mapped and named the rock in 1935.
