The Thuronyi Bluff is a striking cliff at the Foyn coast of Graham Lands on the Antarctic Peninsula . It rises up between the Balch and Gould glaciers at the head of Mill Inlet .
Aerial photographs were taken during the US Ronne Antarctic Research Expedition (1947-1948) and scientists from the Falkland Islands Dependencies Survey carried out measurements in 1947 . The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named the cliff after Geza T. Thuronyi (1919-2008), librarian for polar literature at the Library of Congress from 1967 to 1990 and member of the Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names from 1987 to 1990.
