Thymoites

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Thymoites ( Greek  Θυμοίτης ), the son of Oxyntes and Phyllis, became king of Attica after his brother Apheidas , whom he is said to have maliciously murdered . During a war against Boeotia , Thymoites was invited to a duel by the Theban king Xanthos , but refused. Instead, Melanthos fought against Xanthos, defeated him and then ousted Thymoites from the Athens throne. So the rule of the Kekropiden ended .
