Thymus laconicus is a plant type from the genus of thyme ( Thymus ) in the family of Labiatae .

Thymus laconicus is a small, turf-forming shrub that can grow up to 10 cm high and woody at the base. The flower-bearing stems are 3 to 6 cm high, their internodes are significantly shorter than the leaves and are velvety hairy. The leaves are up to 11 mm long and 1.5 mm wide. They are narrow spatulate, blunt or almost blunt, pointed towards the front, finely toothed, velvety hairy and ciliate in the lower half.
The inflorescences are dense, elongated capitula . The bracts are up to 12 mm long and 8 mm wide, ovate-elliptical, almost pointed and a little purple in color. The calyx is 6 to 8 mm long, hairy tomentose-samitig and the calyx-tube is more or less cylindrical. The lips are longer than the calyx tube and the upper teeth are about 1.5 cm long, narrowly lanceolate and ciliate. The crown is about 11 mm long and colored pink-purple.
Occurrence and locations
The species occurs at Cape Malea in southern Greece .
