Thyssen Krupp House

The Thyssen-Krupp-Haus is a high-rise building on Alleestraße 165, at the intersection with Kohlenstraße, in the Stahlhausen district of Bochum .

The building has 13 floors. It was planned by Wilhelm Seidensticker , Essen. It was built from 1963 to 1964. It is a two-tier reinforced concrete skeleton structure with a height of 46.20 meters, 59 meters long and 14.50 meters wide, oriented in a north-south direction.

Originally the headquarters of the Bochumer Verein was located here , then Hütten- und Bergwerke Rheinhausen AG , from 1965 Friedrich-Krupp-Hüttenwerke , later ThyssenKrupp . This era ended in 2006.

At the end of May 2013, Knappschaft-Bahn-See moved into the first five floors for a few months, as their headquarters in the Bomin House were being renovated.

In 2016 the house was rented to the Federal Agency for Real Estate Tasks (BImA). In 2017 the house was completely covered for renovation. In 2018, the investment firm Cording Real Estate Group sold the house to Mercer Street Capital and Black Bird Real Estate (BBRE) for an undisclosed price. In 2019 it was announced that the building would be rented to the Federal Office for Migration and Refugees (BAMF).
