Tianlian 1B (Simplified Chinese: 天 链 一号 02, Traditional Chinese: 天 鏈 一號 02, or Tianlian I-02 ) is a Chinese rail tracking and relay satellite.
It was placed in geostationary orbit on July 11, 2011 by a Long March 3C rocket from the Xichang Cosmodrome . From there, together with the Tianlian 1A , which was launched on April 25, 2008, it is supposed to provide orbit and navigation data for China's next manned space flights and enable an improved communication link with the space travelers. The on the satellite bus DFH-3A based satellite was developed by the Chinese Academy of Space Technology (CAST), led by the China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation developed (CASC).
