Tibor Palánkai

Tibor Palánkai (born March 1, 1938 in Jakabszállás ) is a Hungarian economist and professor at the Hungarian Academy of Sciences .

Career

Between 1977 and 1983 he was academic vice - rector of the Karl Marx University of Economics , and between 1997 and 2000 he was rector of the Budapest University of Economics. He has been a member of the EU University Council since 2001.

His research is particularly concerned with the economy in the process of international integration, the theory of integration, analysis of the economy and the international division of labor in developed countries. Within these topics, he mainly focuses on monetary integration, the progress of integration when Hungary in particular joined the European Union, research in areas such as the world energy economy, economic war and the transformation of the military industry.

He is the author or co-author of more than three hundred scientific publications.
