Tibotec BVBA is a Belgian pharmaceutical company with a focus on research and development for AIDS - drugs . It was founded in 1994 by Hilde Azijn, Marie-Pierre de Béthune, Carine Claeys, Kurt Hertogs and Rudi Pauwels. In 1999 Galapagos was founded as part of a joint venture with Crucell . In 2002 the company was taken over by Johnson & Johnson and thus part of Janssen-Cilag GmbH, a drug manufacturer from Neuss.
