Tiefenbach is a district of the city of Illertissen in the Swabian district of Neu-Ulm ( Bavaria ) with approx. 2000 inhabitants.

The village is located about 3 kilometers northeast of Illertissen on the western slope of the Rothtal.

The place was first mentioned in a document in 1220 as the parish village of Tuiffenbach . As early as 1411 the village had its own church, St. Leonhard. Tiefenbach belonged to the Illertissen rule. In the peasant wars in the 16th century, it became known through the peasant leader Michel Streit .
