Tiemo Hauer (born January 6, 1990 in Stuttgart ) is a German-speaking pop musician .

biography

Tiemo Hauer got his first guitar at the age of five. He later took piano lessons for a year. Interest in music became serious when he started playing the drums at the age of 13. First he became a drummer in the rock and roll band 'Pants for Peter', then in a punk pop band. Hauer wrote his own songs with German texts and began playing the piano again.

He had his first solo appearance at a school festival at the Wilhelms-Gymnasium in Stuttgart , followed by appearances in pubs. Hauer graduated from high school and then made his first recordings. His debut Ehrlich Glück appeared in a small edition in December 2009 on the Stuttgart indie label “Green Elephant Records”, which at that time still belonged to his manager and his business partner.

Hauer signed his first record deal in 2010 with the Berlin major label Universal Music . In the course of this collaboration, Hauer had a radio hit with the song Nacht am Strand , which made it into the German single charts. After this release, however, Hauer canceled his record contract before the release of the first album because he felt misunderstood and his creativity was limited.

In 2011, Hauer took over 50% of the record company Green Elephant Records, which he still runs today with his manager. On this label his debut album Los Lassen was released in the same year and it started his first tour of Germany of the same name with a full band line-up. During this time, Hauer began to make friends more and more with the do-it-yourself life. Now he didn't just write his own songs as before, but also took care of the artwork and music videos himself.

From this point on, Hauer no longer used the label Green Elephant Records, which had previously been founded for a more specific purpose, for himself, but signed the Stuttgart indie-folk duo Kids of Adelaide in 2011. Since then he has been working on developing new artists alongside his own career.

In 2012, Hauer's second studio album For the Moment was released , which entered the German charts at number 30.

In 2013 the first live album Two Hundred and Forty Thousands was released , the title of which hides the number of kilometers that Hauer has roughly covered in the years of his musician career. The live album was recorded exclusively at a concert in the Zapata in Stuttgart and includes songs from his first and second studio album.

In 2014, Hauer's third studio album, Camille , was released, which the Stuttgart-based artist produced himself and published on his own label. For the final mix, Hauer brought Hamburg producer Philipp Schwär on board . The new sound and the appearance of the record surprised media, fans and critics at the same time.

The video for the second single Herz / Kopf is based on the bizarre animation film Idiots & Angels by the American animation artist Bill Plympton .

After the album "Vernunft, Vernunft", which was released in 2016, and the accompanying tour, Tiemo Hauer was quiet for the time being. During this period of silence, he also ended the collaboration with his long-term business partner and manager.

The EP "A short forever", which Hauer published for the first time in early 2019 on the Swiss independent label Radicalis GmbH, was the first sign of life after a long break. In the seven songs on it, Hauer processed the end of a long-term relationship and without exception played all the instruments himself. The entire production and mixing took place without outside influence, in his home studio in Stuttgart.

In 2020 the fifth studio album "Talks about the advantages and disadvantages of breathing" was released, which takes a pleasingly large amount of musical freedom.
